Cosmetology Graduation!

Back in August I finished my 2,000 hours in cosmetology and all I had to do was take the State Boards tests then get an exit interview with the head instructor then I would have my license and be outta there! But due to me being lazy and scared to do the State Boards I didn't take them until October and I passed! I was so excited and relieved! Then I go to the school to get things situated and I find out that the school requires I take a state board practice test and pass with an 80%... even though I passed them just fine without it! So I go in and take it, thinking I would do alright considering I already passed the state tests. It turns out it is the hardest test to pass, and not only is it hard, the test is different every single time you take it, so you literally have no clue what to study for! I only got 71% that first time I had to take it. Anyways, after taking that test a hundred times I finally passed with an 83% Whoo hoo!!!!!
So I go in the next day (on Thursday) I go in for the exit interview and the instructors inform me that I am, "just 46 hours short of 2,000." OH OKAY! Just 46 hours is all? haha they acted like it wasn't a big deal. So anyway I just asked them to show me where they got that number from and for them to count up all the hours right in front of me, because HOW can I be off by 46 hours? So anyways, they ended up with 3 hours I had to do, so I did those last agonizing 3 hours that night then scheduled for an exit interview for Friday.
I went in on Friday and had the interview and signed lots of papers and paid money to exit the program (what the crap?) and then got a picture and got sang to (so embarrassing because I don't know any of the girls there now because I haven't been since August!) and then chatted with my sweet darling shampoo set lady Joyce, who came to me faithfully every Friday. Then I mailed some stuff to Salt Lake and paid $60.00 to get my cosmetology license mailed to me, and now I can officially say I am Kim, a cosmetologist. Man, doesn't that sound wonderful???
I am so excited to start up my career and do hair full time and quit Subway. I am so excited for this new chapter in my life. It is about time I got myself graduated!

How adorable is this? Hahaha

Then in celebration Blake took me to Ihop because my interview was in the morning and we were so hungry for breakfast.

Back in the beginning of our friendship! I love this girl! We've been though lots together, and I would just like to give her a shout out for her graduation next Friday! congrats!

Classic cosmo school pose with our dolls. Which one is real? ;)

Love Courtney and Jess!!!! They made my schooling bearable...

Missy and I deep conditioning our hair together. I miss this girl! She got married then I never saw her again! ;)

Mariah started with me. She finished so so fast though! She is so hilarious.

Well, not that I didn't enjoy cosmetology school, I just really really really won't miss it and all the hoops they make us jump through. So Adios DATC! I won't miss you!

Two Year Anniversary!

Wow, I should blog more, I just feel like my life isn't full of enough adventures though to blog, but I just thought of something I could write about! On December 19th 2012, my sweetheart Blake and I celebrated our two years together! How sweet. I love that boy so so very much. We had such a blast on that day. We started out by taking pictures at our "special places" and some random places. It was so much fun, I got a new camera so it was fun putting it on a tripod and putting it on a timer and then running like crazy to get to our spots to make it a cute picture. It was one of the funnest afternoons ever. It was also frreeeezing and we didn't get to go to all of our places, but that is fine.

This was at The Bun Basket, a cute sandwich shop we go to sometimes. Yummmy bread there. This was our anniversary lunch.

Our first stop of "Special Places" is my front porch, where he always, no matter what time it is or how cold it is or how grumpy we are, walks me to the door and kisses me and tells me he loves me. He is a true gentleman.

The bridge at Happy Hollow, where we had a romantic walk two years ago, and we were dying to kiss each other for the second time, but we chickened out, but that stroll so long ago was so magical. I was smitten by him.

Another picture at Happy Hollow. This turned out to be such a pretty picture. I think so at least.

The road to the Polygamist Farm, on of the scariest roads in Utah. Haha just kidding, but at night it is pretty spooky. When we were first dating we challenged each other to walk all the way through it at night, and we did it! Hand in hand. It was terrifying, but together, we can to anything!

This is a fun picture of us faking sliding down the slides at a park where if we would sluff school (which I might add, was not very often, and also I should say, sorry mom for sluffing!) and play and play and play. We also would eat our lunches here once in a while.

Possibly the funniest picture ever. This is our failed attempt at a spiderman kiss.

Here we are at yet another park, where we've only been to once before but I remember that day as on of the best days ever. We played on that weird thing we are sitting on for such a long time just laughing.

In front of his house, where he takes me to my car when it is time for me to go home and we say our goodbyes. We took soooo many pictures right here because we tried to get a kissing one, but no matter what we would stop kissing right as the timer went off. We laughed and laughed at every one of these pictures because they all look so awkward.

Us just laughing soo so so hard so we couldn't make any cute pictures. haha

The spot where we first said "I love you" to each other. There was a tree with swings on it, but it blew over in a wind storm. And yes, it is in front of some random person's house.

I swear I'm almost done!

We ate at Mimi's cafe and then went to his house and had hot chocolate in wine glasses just to feel fancy.

This is the quilt I made for Blake so we can snuggle and watch movies under it. It is supposed to look like a tree trunk with our initials carved into it. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Alright, this is me, signing off until next time! Thanks for reading!
